Palabra Pura is the longest running bilingual reading series in Chicago. When asked to curate November’s Palabra Pura “El Amor”, multimedia artist Miguel Lopez Lemus engaged this legacy by inviting past Palabra Pura participants to contribute an original, unpublished poem or essay on the theme of Amor. The resulting collection, Cantalogia I, is at once personal and universal, and provides a glimpse into the multifaceted world of love. Join us at La Bruquena Restaurant ( 2726 W Division) in Humboldt Park at 7:30 pm on Wednesday November 20, 2013, for a release party celebrating Cantologia I. A buffet of La Bruquena food will be provided, so bring your appetites! The event begins with an open mic followed by readings from poets included in the Anthology. This is the final Palabra Pura of 2013.

Twenty-seven (!) Palabra Pura poets contributed a new poem on the theme for this published collection, and many will be on hand to read for this special event. What’s more, you can purchase the volume and take the love home. Physical copies will available at the reading, and digital copies can be found at Amazon.com.

Don’t miss it!
