The Guild Literary Complex offers internships opportunities through Columbia College Chicago, Creative Writing Department, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Co-op Program, as well as other institutions.  We look for people interested in arts programming, writing, photography, film, sound, and on. We work to design internships around the student and are happy to talk to you about possible opportunities.  Please email to inquire about interning with the Guild.

Volunteers are vital to the Guild Literary Complex’s efforts, and through volunteering you will have the opportunity to meet new people and learn about Chicago’s vibrant literary scene up close and personal. Our volunteers help with tasks ranging from programming to operations. Some examples have included: helping us find venues and artists for our events, manning a ticket table, donating design expertise, cooking appetizers for a reception, and introducing us to community leaders, arts organizations
and donors.

In addition, our Board of Directors are equally vital to our activities by volunteering their time, talents and resources. They partner with the Executive Director and staff to guide programming and operations, steward the Guild’s resources and act as ambassadors for the Guild’s mission and programming.

This year we are also launching a new Youth Council, and an Advisory Board at the Guild Literary Complex.  If you would like to serve in either of these capacities please get in touch with our Executive Director, Lisa Wagner to begin that conversation.

If you would like more information about joining the Guild’s Board or volunteering in other ways, please contact us at 877-394-5061 or  We welcome your interest and look forward to you introduce yourself to us at an upcoming Guild event.
