Guild Literary Complex

December is one of two months the Guild takes a break from programming, and we use this end-of-the-year “quiet” time for two important tasks: finalize a compelling program plan for the upcoming year, and secure financial support through an annual fundraising appeal.

Regarding the latter, we are in the middle of the most successful campaign in the Guild’s history. It began with a $2500 challenge grant sponsored by the generosity of 11 esteemed Chicago authors and friends of the Guild. That challenge grant was met and surpassed with a total of $5313 given by individual donations! And as of this posting, we’ve raised a total of $10,673. The campaign continues until the end of the year. If you have already donated, thank you! If not, can you contribute today and donate $5, $25, $50, or more to support the cross-cultural literary work of your Guild Complex?

And what events are on the Guild’s horizon? Well, we aren’t announcing the schedule just yet, but you can look forward to special programs with all of our 25 Writers to Watch, new collaborations across the city, and even an increase in the prize money we offer in our writing contests. As we approach the end of 2014—our 25th anniversary year—we are looking forward to the next 25 years. Please join us at our live events, and support the Guild’s important work as a literary tonic with a year-end donation or other gift, like volunteering your time and talents to keep building a stronger Guild for everyone to enjoy. See you next year! [And donate today if you can!]
